• Oversaw the site's commerce content, guiding strategy for traffic, revenue, and product testing

• Launched the site's product testing initiative both a lab setting and real world; identified priority product categories to test based on revenue, traffic, and seasonality, generated product procurement lists for testing, wrote and edited testing methodologies, and edited and published roundups that demonstrated testing efforts  

• Managed a team of editors and set monthly and quarterly goals for testing and publishing

• Helped launch and lead the site's news initiative, publishing and assigning timely travel news stories

• Edited feature stories comprising trend stories, reported features, and personal narratives for TripSavvy's thematic monthly digital issues

• Managed TripSavvy's travel guides ('journeys') for destinations across the world, each comprising 15 to 30 articles curated from monthly expert assignments, contributor content, staff-written articles, and other projects 

• Oversaw a roster of 35+ writers ('experts') that contribute to the site on a monthly basis, including hiring and onboarding, assigning and editing articles, and being a point of contact for pitches, questions, and other needs

• Generated monthly assignments for that roster of experts, based on SEO content analysis, needs for larger projects and travel guides, and knowledge of current travel trends and news

• Managed TripSavvy's travel guides ('journeys') for destinations across the world, each comprising 15 to 30 articles curated from monthly expert assignments, contributor content, staff-written articles, and other projects

• Brainstormed, assigned, and edited TripSavvy's 'Where to Go' articles, a monthly activation of the data and winners from the annual TripSavvy Editors' Choice Awards

• Worked on TripSavvy's Editors' Choice Awards (choosing winners, identifying categories, writing and editing award write-ups, and brainstorming ideas for product and presentation of the awards on the site)

• Assessed TripSavvy's library of seasonal articles monthly, ensuring all content was continually updated accurately and in time for the upcoming holidays and seasons

• Worked with contributing writers, including assigning out packages for travel guides and approving pitches

• Contributed to several SEO-based projects on the site to optimize existing content as well as generated ideas for new content that would perform well in search and provide a seamless experience for readers

 

Associate Editor (April 2018 – January 2019)

• Edited and published several stories per day from experts and contributors

• Assessed TripSavvy's library of seasonal articles, ensuring all content was updated for the forthcoming holiday or season

• Assisted with planning out travel guides by determining article needs and publishing incoming content

• Programed the homepage daily to feature new articles, timely content, and travel guides

• Write the weekly 'deals' newsletter in edit other daily newsletters

• Assisted with the first annual TripSavvy's Editors' Choice Awards (helped choose winners and place into categories, write and edit award write-ups

Assistant Editor (November 2016 – April 2018)

• Pitched and wrote for the ASME-nominated FOB section, Discuss

• Wrote two to three online articles each week for the Health, Sex & Love, and News channels

• Pitched and wrote stories for the Health, Life, and Sex & Love sections of the print magazine

• Conducted celebrity interviews for the FOB section, #WHStrong ("What's in her workout bag?")

• Coordinated and planned Women's Health Hangouts, social events that functioned as reader focus groups

• Wrote the TOC, The Instant Expert (BOB), and the "You Lose, You Win" (weight loss) pages

Prototype Development for Meredith Corporation

January - May 2014

 

I worked with a team to build a prototype of Vintage Now, a magazine featuring fashion, home design, weddings and entertainment with vintage aesthetic. We presented our prototype at Meredith Corporation Headquarters in May.

• AEJMC award: Second place in Start-up Magazine Project

• Developed plans for editorial content, circulation, and advertising opportunities

• Collaborated with designers to produce the vision of the magazine

• Designed and published the magazine for print, online, social media, and iPad platforms
